ADAM LIPPS (5-8) & (9-12) DIRECTOR
816.554.0929 ext. 122
Adam was born and raised in Independence, Missouri, and has lived in the KC area his entire life, except for college experiences (see below) and a couple of 1-year periods living in Tucson, Arizona, and Changsha, China. His time doing ministry in both of these places has been extremely formational in who God has made Adam today. Adam has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Truman State University, a law degree from the University of Missouri, and a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary. He studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain, the summer before his senior year of undergrad (one of the best experiences he ever had).
Adam has been attending Lakeland since fall of 2007, working with Lakeland students since 2008, and on staff at Lakeland since March 2012. Before being called to do vocational ministry, Adam spent some time teaching high school Spanish and as an internal auditor specializing in anti-money laundering at a financial institution. Adam and his wife, Hannah, were married in September 2012, and have a toddler named Owen. Adam loves doing what he is doing right now (K-12 ministry and the college internship program), and is extremely thankful to be able to do something he loves for a living.
A lot of fun memories with my wife … our first real date (Indian food and swinging in Loose Park), the time she came and visited me in China, the day I asked her to marry me, and any of our fun and relaxing trips together.
Sports, sports, and sports! I am an avid fan of the Royals, Chiefs, and Mizzou, and also enjoy watching soccer, mixed martial arts, and pretty much anything during the Olympics! I love watching movies and TV shows, music – including playing guitar and singing in the car, and reading. I love to travel – pretty much anywhere – and geography in general (I have been known to read and study road atlases). I love trivia – Sporcle is one of my very favorite websites. I also really enjoy cooking and eating delicious and adventurous food.
